DRAFT to-go!

Posted by Jonathan Surratt On October - 23 - 20081 COMMENT

We’ve recently completed testing of our DRAFT Mobile site and we’re now opening it up for public consumption. Simply bookmark “draftmag.com/m” on your mobile phone to have a daily source of beer-related reading material and beer event information.

DRAFT Mobile Home Page

DRAFT Mobile Home Page

The main page of DRAFT Mobile shows the last 10 News or Blog articles on the site. Titles and posted dates are shown, but clicking either of these will bring you to the full article.

At the bottom of all pages, you will find navigation links to other parts of our mobile site, including our Forums and our Upcoming Events listings, complete with maps provided by Google’s Static Maps API.

The blogs page mirrors our blogs page on the main site. You will find all our blogs with the most recent posts displayed.

DRAFT Mobile will bring you as much of our main site as possible without slow loading times. Look for Beer Towns, Beer Reviews, and more coming in the near future.

As always, please let us know if you have any feedback or comments!

Beertowns Online

Posted by Jonathan Surratt On October - 5 - 2008ADD COMMENTS

We have launched our Beertown feature with content from DRAFT Magazine and we will be releasing each Beer Town online soon after the magazine hits newstands.

The next step for Beertowns will be adding downloadable POI files for each town.  This will be a feature that hopefully will encourage those of you owning gps devices to better explore new towns and cities for beer!

Welcome to DRAFT Online!

Welcome to the New DRAFT Magazine website! We’ve undergone a bit of a redesign, but we’ve tried to retain some of the same features and functions from the old version of the site. Our goal with this redesign was to add community based features to our already expanding beer news and events section.

Take a look around, register on the forums, check out the calendar and make sure to leave comments about what you think can be improved or what sort of features you would like to see added.

We have plans to greatly expand the Beer Events section with maps and reminder emails that you can subscribe to. We have the intention to expand the Beer Towns section into a great travel guide for the towns covered in the Magazine. With Maps and GPS Point of Interest downloads that can be accessed by our users.

The DRAFT Online store will be returning and we will be giving subscribers ways to manage their accounts, as well as providing new subscribers options for getting America’s Number One Beer Magazine delivered to their house.

We also have plans in the works to tie in the Beer Mapping API provided by beermapping.com. Our goal in this partnership is to bring their mapping technology and present it to DRAFT’s users in unique ways.

Stick around and keep an eye on what we’re doing next!

Extreme Makeover: DRAFT Edition

The First image is the old DRAFT homepage. The second image is the current DRAFT homepage. The site is now going to be getting consistent updates and we plan to roll out new features as they are developed. We just thought it would be nice to archive a comparison between the two versions of the site here.

Let us know what you think about the new design!
